Cacik

Cacik is a traditional Turkish cold dish made from yogurt, cucumber, and garlic that is believed to have been created during the Ottoman Empire period. It was served as a side dish to kebabs that were popular at the time and was made from ingredients that were easy to find, affordable, and nutritious. Today, it is still a popular side dish served throughout Turkey and is often served with pide (Turkish flatbread). It is also a popular accompaniment to many other dishes such as köfte and döner kebabs.
